JOB SUMMARY

The Data Scientist I will be an integral member of the Data and Business Intelligence team. In this role, the Data Scientist I will support Data Engineers and Solution Architects with data exploration, interpretation, publishing and Data Storytelling. The ideal candidate will leverage their knowledge and experience using a variety of data mining and statistical analysis methods, to build algorithms, predictive models, and perform custom analysis. The Data Scientist I will identify patterns, correlate data and apply techniques such as machine learning, statistical modeling, and AI to find actionable insights using data for better business decision making.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Data Mining and Analysis – Able to inspect, cleanse, transform and model data with the goal of discovering useful information, informing conclusions and supporting decision-making through statistical modeling

  • Research, analyze and identify data requirements and business processes
  • Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement
  • Analyze data to discover and interpret patterns, trends and variances in large data sets
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques

Data Modeling-Able to write, test, debug, and maintain data workflows for end-user adoption, productivity improvement and efficiency.

  • Support the use of predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences
  • Develop custom models and algorithms to apply to data sets
  • Support the development of processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy
  • Assist with technical design
  • Assist with troubleshooting technical issues
  • Develop knowledge of the company’s applications
  • Participate in peer code reviews

Technical Design-Able to identify, analyze, specify, design, and translate functional design to technical design.

  • Creates and documents technical designs for low complexity solutions
  • Participates in peer design review

Requirements Elicitation - Ability to identify a desired future state that addresses a business problem.

  • Effectively use interviewing skills to elicit, identify, and document big data business requirements
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes
  • Prioritizes requirements to identify the most critical needs.

Adherence to Standards – ability to create solutions that adhere to and incorporates RTS standards

  • Applies and users information and technology standards in design of solution
  • Obtains key inputs from Enterprise Architecture to ensure compliance and exception management

Provide Accurate Project Effort Estimates – ability to quantify and meet individual and project phase level efforts

  • Create, manage and meet accurate project effort estimates for assigned tasks
  • Meet project estimates
  • Adhere to RTS project methodology throughout project lifecycle

ANNUAL PAY:

$92,500 - $119,500

Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience in a related field required.
  • 1 years’ of relevant experience in the design, execution and use of data analysis techniques and tools required
  • 1 years’ experience handling data sets and building statistical / machine learning models
  • 1 years’ experience in Query Languages such as SQL, SQLite required
  • 1 years’ experience with Java and/or Statistical program languages such as Python, R, SAS, etc. required
  • Understanding of Data Mining, Machine Learning tools and techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, neural networks, etc.), the natural language processing techniques, and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
  • Knowledge of data exploring, wrangling, blending, cleansing and standardization required
  • Understanding of cloud computing such as AWS.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, at all levels including customers, vendors, peers, business stakeholders and management required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products required.
  • Capable of learning new systems.
  • Customer service oriented.
